COMMUNICATIONS

Once your son or daughter joins the Timberview High School Band, there will be several ways to communicate.

CHARMS: The Timberview Band uses the Charms Office Database to handle most of the important band information. Parents and Students can access their account balances for band fees, manage their contact information (for emails and letters), sign up for volunteer opportunities (through the Charms Calendar), access important files and handouts, and track your volunteer points.

CURRENT BAND/COLORGUARD PARENTS: Use these Charms log in instructions:

  1. Go to www.charmsoffice.com and at the top right corner click on “LOGIN”
  2. In the “Parents/Students/Members” area, type in our School Code: TimberviewHSB
  3. From there you can enter the “Student Area Password”
  4. If you cannot remember your password, reset it by clicking on “Forgot Login and/or Password”. Charms will send an email to the adult listed in Charms with a reset link. It takes less a minute and the password can be reset multiple times. Or, if this is your first time logging in to Charms, you will receive an email with directions on how to create your password.

NEW PARENTS: You will be given more information about Charms during Band Registration (usually about a month before school begins).

THE BAND APP: This mobile app is a way for directors, parents, and students to share timely information with each other, including things like practice logistics and volunteer needs.

EMAIL: Regular emails from the directors to parents help you know how the band is progressing, what events are upcoming, the best ways to help your student(s) have a successful band experience, and more.

SOCIAL MEDIA: We do our best to share fun photos and news of the band with all our fans through social media. On Instagram: @timberviewband, @tviewcolorguard, @tview_pitsters and @tview.drumline or on Facebook: Mansfield Timberview High School Band Boosters.

Band Uniform Overview

The THS Band makes it a priority to always look their best, whether on the football field or on a concert stage. Here’s the information parents and guardians need to help their students take pride in their appearance!

Most pieces of the band’s formal uniform are either purchased by the Timberview Band or through band fees; pieces of the formal uniform will be kept at the band hall and do not go home with students. There are a few additional items that students are expected to provide on their own to complete their uniform.

Summer Uniform: GBS (General Band Shirt) and marching shoes (purchased during band registration); black twill shorts (with a 5” or 7” inseam), black socks, plain black belt (purchased independently).

Formal Uniform for football games and marching competitions: formal uniform pieces kept at the band hall; show shirt, show shorts, marching shoes (purchased at band registration), black over-the-calf socks (purchased independently)

Formal Uniform for concert performances: formal uniform pieces kept at the band hall; students bring or wear white tuxedo shirt with or without cufflinks (for men), black dress over-the-calf socks (men) or black tights (women), black dress shoes (purchased independently).

In addition, students will be given dress guidelines and expectations for practices and events. These might, but are not intended to, necessitate any additional purchases.

Color Guard and Winter Guard dress expectations will be shared separately with those students.
