Parents and students: below you will find some important dates for the start of the 2024 Marching Band Season. NOTE: SUMMER BAND CAMP STARTS FOR ALL BAND MEMBERS THE WEEK OF JULY 22.
2024 Spring Marching Practices: Tuesday, May 21 – Thursday, May 23
5:00 – 7:00 PM
All 2024 Marching Band Members (INCOMING FRESHMEN INCLUDED) are required to participate in the Spring Marching Practices at Timberview High School. This will be an introduction to the 2024 marching season and a chance to get your marching instrument and music before summer begins!
2024 Spring Marching Preview & Parent Meeting: Thursday, May 23
6:30 PM at the TImberview HS Performing Arts Center
Don’t miss the premier of the music from the 2024 Wolf Marching Band Production! We will present a portion of the show and introduce student leaders and cover important information about the 2024-25 Timberview Band. Please make every effort to attend (Incoming 9th grade families please make this a priority). We look forward to seeing you!
Summer Band Turbo Daze! : June 4, 11, 18, 25
2:00 – 4:00 PM
Throughout the summer, voluntary music practices will be on Tuesdays. This will give you a head start on your marching music for 2024 and will help you be the first to memorize your music!
Band Registration for All Band Members: Saturday, July 27, 2024
8:000 AM – 5:00 PM
On this day you will take care of all documents, uniform fitting and fees, remaining instrument needs, any other necessary paperwork, to help students find their slots, music, and materials, and to give the kids and parents a chance to meet each other and ask any questions about band. At least one parent must attend with each student. You need to be prepared to pay the remaining balance on all Marching Band fees on this day (more to come in the summer letter). Watch for a summer letter to arrive in the mail that will explain this day and fees required in more detail.
Full Band Camp for All Band Members: Wednesday, July 24 to Tuesday, August 13
(Times vary and will be announced)
Due to the 2024-2025 MISD school start date, JULY 24 is the start of summer band for ALL band students. Attendance is required at all camps. Sorry, no student will be excused due to work conflicts or club sports conflicts. Anyone who misses rehearsals will be placed as an alternate for the betterment of the band. It is very important that students are on time, dressed appropriately and are prepared to start working at the scheduled start time (not arriving at the scheduled start time). Students with consistent attendance will be given preference when assigned parts or spots in the show. The daily schedule varies a bit so please be sure to check the band calendar on the front page of the website for details.
Mandatory Parent Meeting & Fall Premier & BAND FAMILY PICNIC:
Saturday, August 17 at 9:30 AM
We will review the fall activities and the band will perform! A wealth of information will be available to help you navigate successfully, whether it is your first or fourth year with a student in the THS band. Following our performance, we will have a picnic with food trucks and KONA ICE! We look forward to seeing you there!
