COMMUNICATIONS:

Once your son or daughter joins the Timberview High School Band, there will be several ways to communicate.

CUTTIME: The Timberview Band is switching from CHARMS to CUTTIME. Read this post for some initial instructions.

THE BAND APP: This mobile app is a way for directors, parents, and students to share timely information with each other, including things like practice logistics and volunteer needs. It will include announcements and alerts, the band calendar, and you can interact via comments on posts, or with direct messages. It is all safe, monitored, and approved for student use by MISD. A link to join has been sent to parents via email from the directors.

EMAIL: Regular emails from the directors to parents help you know how the band is progressing, what events are upcoming, the best ways to help your student(s) have a successful band experience, and more.

SOCIAL MEDIA: We do our best to share fun photos and news of the band with all our fans through social media. On Instagram: @timberviewband, @tviewcolorguard, @tview_pitsters and @tview.drumline or on Facebook: Mansfield Timberview High School Band Boosters.

Band Uniform Overview:

The THS Band makes it a priority to always look their best, whether on the football field or on a concert stage. Here’s the information parents and guardians need to help their students take pride in their appearance!

Most pieces of the band’s formal uniform are either purchased by the Timberview Band, through the band’s TMF or Brooks Mays store, or through band fees; pieces of the formal uniform will be kept at the band hall and do not go home with students. There are a few additional items that students are expected to provide on their own to complete their uniform.

Summer Uniform: GBS (General Band Shirt, purchased through the TMF store) and marching shoes (purchased during band registration); black shorts (purchased through the TMF store), black socks.

Formal Uniform for football games and marching competitions: formal uniform pieces kept at the band hall; show shirt, show shorts, marching shoes (purchased at band registration), black over-the-calf socks (purchased independently).

Formal Uniform for concert performances: formal uniform pieces kept at the band hall; students bring or wear white tuxedo shirt with or without cufflinks (for men), black dress over-the-calf socks (men) or black tights (women), black dress shoes (purchased independently).

In addition, students will be given dress guidelines and expectations for practices and events. These might, but are not intended to, necessitate additional purchases.

Color Guard and Winter Guard dress expectations will be shared directly with those students.
